ministering angel

Occurrences:  24

First Reference:  Wisdom 14:2

Now when the man awoke, he took a staff and went unto a solitary place and there came unto him, Emmanuel, and with him were gathered a host of ministering angels. And there was under his feet a clear blue pavement like unto sapphire.

See:  Celestial Kingdom, Paradise, Teraphim

Summary:  Ministering angels are the lowest of three classes of glorified humans that dwell in the Celestial Kingdom of Heaven (W:14:20-22; W:16:6-9). Possessing bodies of flesh and bone yet existing as eternal beings,  ministering angels dwell on Paradise moons that orbit celestial worlds (5:4:37). They serve with the Cherubim in raising and teaching the spirit children of God (W:25:13).

There are varying orders and levels of advancement within this stage of progression. Ministering angels of the highest order, referred to as the ‘Teraphim’, are appointed the lowest seats among the Council of Elohim (AZC — Abiel). Ministering angels — likely those counted among the Teraphim — may “move between the Heavens and the earth” to bless and instruct those who would draw near to the heart of God (4:9:62-63).

While ministering angels have achieved a certain glory within the Celestial Kingdom, it is a lesser glory reserved for those who have yet to “follow straightly the Lord their God” throughout their mortal lives (W:18:17). This state may also serve as an intermediary position along the path of eternal progression. For example, a spirit child may become a Teraphim prior to the completion of all seven dispensations (4:9:59-63). Ministering angels have yet to formally achieve exaltation along their path of eternal progression. Spirit children who achieve the divine state of exaltation are considered Souls of the Just Made Perfect (AZC — El Shalon / El Shaloah).

Notes/References:

...in the Celestial Kingdom there are but three kinds of beings:

Ministering angels who possess bodies of flesh and bone like unto men; yet they being eternal dwell forever in the presence of God.

Then are there the Souls of the Just Made Perfect, who possess glorified spiritual bodies even as this Emmanuel did in the beginning.

And Arch-Angels like unto you, who possess celestial bodies of flesh and bone unlike the natural man, having taken unto themselves the glory of God.

Wisdom 16:6-9
